       Cat Wile, Founder

I'm Cathryn "Cat" Wile, and the founder of Forlulu Events. I've been an avid outdoorswoman my entire life from the times I was determined to keep close on Dad's heels during hiking trips through New Hampshire's White Mountains as kid to booking one way plane tickets to New Zealand to chase whitewater to continuously learning new skills. I've found confidence, healing, and peace from mountains, walls, trails, and rivers, and people I've shared those adventures with around the globe and want others to find what they are searching for in the wilderness too.

I've hosted everything from sold out film premieres to ladies urban adventure races to 15,000 person festivals including the Mountain Sports Festival, Pretty Faces' Asheville film premiere, Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour - Denver, outdoor excursions, films, races and Outdoor Retailer after parties.

When I'm not creating outdoor inspired events, I'm most likely found climbing, on the river, with friends and beers around a fire, or volunteering for disaster response and relief operations with Team Rubicon.

Our Story

Forlulu Events has been many years in the making. I met Louise "Lulu" Jull while living in New Zealand when she moved into my house in beautiful Wanaka. At first, I was intimidated by my new roommate who was one of world's top whitewater kayakers, but that was quickly dispelled by Lulu's outgoing personality and consummate willingness for adventure.

We kayaked our beloved rivers, proposed future adventures, and spent late nights with friends at our house or a lakeside locals bar. In Lulu, I found a kindred spirit, someone who felt the same struggle of feeling called to a life of travel and adventure on an open road, but trying to balance the responsibilities of "the real world."  Lulu lived life more fully than anyone I've ever met, spending years finding a way to chase the biggest whitewater around the world from Uganda to California to Chile, and I admired her for it.

A few months after I returned home, I received a call that we had lost Lulu to the river in an accident on her home river. Alone and half a world away, I was devastated by the loss of my friend, and I couldn't shake the realization that someone who had bucked life's "should do's" to live a passionate life had been taken so soon. Lulu is rarely far from my thoughts when I think about my approach to life, what I want to contribute to the world, and how I want to live with deep connections to people, the outdoors, and our global humanity.

It was a natural progression to bring together my passions for community, adventure and the outdoors, and my obsessive attention to detail to create an event company inspired by the outdoors and people who continuously .

For you Lulu, I will adventure, connect, push aside my fears to expand what's possible, and fill life to the brim and inspire others to do the same.

Xx,

Cat
